Before you arrive into halls, there are a number of things that you can do to prepare yourself for the year ahead.

Living in student accommodation is very different to living at home and being prepared for that change is always in your best interest. 

Here are some of our top tips to prepare for your arrival: 

1. Ensure you have completed all 7 steps of the University Welcome.

2. Save the halls Reception phone number in your phone contacts.

3. Make a note of your postcode and full address. This can be found later in this induction. Be sure to give it to your friends and loved ones (but please don't get post delivered prior to moving in).

4. Download the MySouthampton App.

5. Keep up to date with what life is like in halls. 

The Halls Life site provides information about everything you need to know during your stay with us in halls. News and updates are provided throughout the year including details on events and activities along with practical information such as how to use the laundry and recycling in halls.

6. Start your packing.
In this induction, you will also find a list of items you should pack, and also a list of items you cannot bring.

7. Kit yourself out for Uni with UniKitOut.
