Highfield Hall

What's included in your room?

Travel light! Your flat will come with most of the essentials.

You can always share with flatmates or buy later if things are missing. What happens a lot is everyone brings too much and you end up with 8 kettles! Here's a full run-through of what is included:

Bedrooms and bathrooms

  • Bed, mattress and mattress protector
  • Wardrobe
  • Desk and adjustable desk chair
  • Bookshelves
  • Curtains

In your room, you will find a mini fridge that can be used for food and drinks. This mini fridge is in addition to fridge and freezer facilities in your pantry. Please feel free to make use of the mini fridge during your stay.

We would advise regular cleaning of the fridge throughout your stay. Prior to being away from your halls for a period of time e.g. term holidays, please ensure any food close to or past its use-by date is removed, to avoid any unpleasant surprises on your return. Before departing from your accommodation at the end of the year, you will be required to clear your fridge entirely of food, clean the inside of the fridge with antibacterial spray/wipes, switch it off at the wall, and leave it with the door open.

We advise you to bring:

  • Bedding (duvet, duvet cover, pillows, pillowcases and sheets) — Check your bed dimensions of our halls bed size chart
  • Towels
  • Toiletries
  • Bath mat (for en-suite accommodation)
  • Laundry bag
  • Clothes hangers
  • Toilet roll and cleaning materials

As you have previously learned, there are lots of shops and a large IKEA in Southampton should you want to purchase any of these things when you arrive with us.
